Rationale
In Millard, we believe that this integrated approach to the information/media program is one reason for the high academic achievement of our students. We also believe that this approach is a critical element of our school improvement efforts. Millard Public Schools value the contributions made by our dedicated staff to make our school libraries the best in the nation!
Millard Public Schools Board of Education policy affirms the intent that the information center is an integral part of the instructional program of every school. The policy of the board has been implemented by a comprehensive plan to change the traditional paradigm of the school library by engaging teachers, parents, administrators, support staff and the professional school library media specialist in a collaborative, teaming arrangement in which the library becomes an information center, the true center of learning for the school.”

She also enjoys cooking and bicycling.

Check-out Information
Students may check out materials from the Information Center during regular school hours, 8:35 am-3:05 pm. While some primary classes do have storytime at a scheduled time each week, the Information Center is open for all students to return and check out books anytime. Students with over due books cannot check out new books until those items are returned. Checkout period is two weeks. Students may check out two items at one time. Please help your child find a special place where his/her book can be kept so that it will not be damaged or lost. If the book is damaged or lost, it is our policy to charge the replacement value of the item. If the item is found, a reimbursement will be made. Please do not repair damage to a book.
Birthday Book Club
A special way to celebrate your child's birthday is to join the Birthday Book Club and donate a book to the Information Center. We have a selection of books from which a child may choose. Students come to the Information Center to choose the book, his or her name will be entered into the book, and he or she will be the first person to check it out. The name and picture of each donor will be added to our birthday cake in the Information Center. Its continuing success is due to the pride both students and parents take in their school and library, and especially expresses our shared love of reading.
