George Parker, a native of Virginia, received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from James Madison University (1998), with an emphasis in trombone. In 2005, Mr. Parker graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Master's degree in Music Education. Mr. Parker has taught at all three levels--high school, middle school, and elementary school--in the parochial and public school settings (Texas and Nebraska). Before coming to Millard, Mr. Parker taught band at Papillion-LaVista High School, Bellevue West High School, Mission Middle School, and at several elementary schools in Bellevue. He currently teaches elementary band at Cottonwood, Grace Abbott, Upchurch, and Ackerman Elementary. Mr. Parker is involved in the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association, National Education Association, and the Millard Education Association. He has a private drum-set studio, teaching students from the Bellevue and Millard areas. He is an active percussionist/ drum-set player at Heartland Community Church, in Omaha. Mr. Parker lives in Millard with his wife, Anne, and two sons, Thomas (age 5) and Graham (age 3).
